10 Questions Parents Should Ask When Looking For A Therapist:

  1. What is your philosophy for intervention?
  2. How many years experience do you have treating chldren with the same challenges as my child?
  3. Do you have any specialties?  Do you hold certifications in that specialty?  
  4. Have you engaged in continuing education or mentorships that are specific to your specialty area? 
  5. What is the environment like?
  6. Do you have the appropriate equipment and assessments to measure my child's progress?
  7. How will change in my child be measured?
  8. How familiar are you with processes outside your own (i.e.-school system, funding sources, etc.)?
  9. How do you make parent education a priority?
  10.  What intervention options do you offer (1:1, group, classes, consultation)?
