He’s had a big OT week. He’s pretty much feeding himself now (I load and hand him the spoon and sometimes help boost the elbow), he’s doing much better using his iPad and even more exciting is his power chair driving. He hasn’t driven in a long time and couldn’t use the joystick that came with his chair. Now he can! He got in it on Saturday and drove like he hasn’t been away from it for almost a year. He is also more aware of barriers and is listening and following directions better while driving.
We have been bringing our three children to PTP for the last nine years, and in that time, the growth they have made is nothing short of astounding. When we started occupational therapy, we had a child who wouldn’t go down a slide or swing, and a child who was constantly injured because he would fall, couldn’t hold a pencil, and was low weight. They are now thriving preteens who face the world head on, and successfully. Our third child has made a lot of progress as well and I fully credit it to the staff at PTP and to Kay Born, owner and OT. PTP isn’t just a place for your child to receive therapy services, it is a place where your child is cared for and loved. We consider the OTs an extended part of our family. I can't recommend PTP any more strongly, particularly if your child has sensory issues.
Life-changing. That’s the best way to describe our experience at Pediatric Therapy Partners. I can still remember walking into PTP for the first time with my son praying that I was making the best choice for him. Almost five years later, I can honestly say that choosing PTP for speech and occupational therapy services was absolutely one of the best choices we made for my son! I am grateful everyday that we are treated like family, not just clients, and we feel very connected to the therapy process. I highly recommend Kay and her staff to everyone looking for SLP or OT services!
Neurofeedback was something that I had never heard about. We were referred to Pediatric Therapy Partners by our counselor due to my daughters anxiety. She was refusing to go to school or do homework. I was ready to try anything at that point. Neurofeedback was amazing! My daughter responded so well to the training and it literally changed her life and life at home. I am so grateful that we found PTP and Neurofeedback.
My son had been receiving speech therapy services at another clinic and was not making progress. We decided to try PTP because of their approach to therapy. The therapy gyms look like playgrounds and the kids get lots of opportunities to move their bodies, which really helps my son. He doesn’t even think he is going to therapy, he just thinks he is going to play with his friends! There are always opportunities for him to play games with other children and he loves it. The staff is excellent and they really make you feel at home. As a parent I like being a part of the process. I would highly recommend PTP for speech therapy services!
